Implementation of Molecular Visualization Program for Chemistry Learning

This study aims to investigate the implementation of molecular visualization programs for improving students’ understanding concepts in chemical bonding. Chemistry learning bonding was conducted using program ACD/ChemSketch and Avogadro program. Several topics include geometry, polarity, bond angle, length, intermolecular forces predicting boiling points. employs quasi-experimental research One Group Pretest – Posttest design. The subjects this were 46 students undergraduate chemistry education department at Universitas Sanata Dharma. use test (pretest pretest) questionnaire assess perception learning. Implementation gave an effect on based paired t-test (sig < 0.05) Kruskal-Wallis test. percentage is 45% with medium N-gain category 65% high It 38.46% 61.54% Students show positive response regarding their understanding, motivation prospective skill becoming teachers. Molecular helps understand topic.
